Odell Sanitary District - Water Reclamation Facility and Collections System

The Odell Sanitary District was formed by Hood River County Board of Commissioners vote in 1965. This vote was the culmination of many hours of work by John Weber and others that had the foresight and dedication to recognize that without proper wastewater collections and treatment; area growth would always be severly limited.

In the first recorded minutes of an early Board meeting, the Directors themselves took money from their own pockets to purchase paper, pens and postage to begin performing District business. From these humble beginnings, the Odell Sanitary District now operates with a staff of five employees and an annual budget of approximately 1.5M.
